Cell therapy is a revolutionary approach to treating or even curing diseases at their source, harnessing the power of living cells to repair damaged tissues and replace faulty cells.
In recent years, there's been major progress in stem cell research and therapy development, but many candidates tested successfully in laboratories aren't reaching human trials because they can't be further developed and manufactured at scale. This means many promising therapies never reach the people who need them most.
A Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative, Cellerator will help close this gap and become Denmark's first facility developing and manufacturing cell therapies at scale for clinical trials. Operations will start in 2027.

Cellerator will be a multi-purpose & multi-product facility, with a mix of office and lab space for cell therapy development and manufacturing. These spaces are designed to meet the evolving demands of the cell therapy field, ensuring consistent, scalable, and safe products for phase I/II clinical trials. We are actively collaborating with public and private actors worldwide to share learnings, ensure optimal services and build a dynamic community that can enable transformative treatments and advance the cell therapy ecosystem.
